Chapter 2 - Safety information Passive safety devices DEFINITION Passive safety devices are those devices or safeguarding techniques which eliminate or reduce potential hazards for the operator without the operator having to actively intervene. Limit switch devices The machine is equipped with a limit switch microswitch (Fig. 2.2). This limit switch microswitch, triggered by a cam, halts the stroke of the hydraulic cylinder within safe limits.
