Hard Disk Drive

To disassemble the entire NEC Versa 6000 computer, start by removing the hard disk drive
as follows.
1.
Check that the NEC Versa power is off.
2.
Turn the NEC Versa 6000 upside down with the front of the unit facing you.
3.
Remove the drive cover as follows:
Locate the drive cover release latch. Push the drive cover release latch up
while using some pressure to slide the cover to the left.
Lift the cover up and off the system.
NOTE: NEC Versa 6000 hard disk drives can be
used in other NEC notebook computers such as
the NEC Versa 2000 and 4000 Series systems.
However, hard disk drives from earlier models
can only be used in the VersaBay II. Check the
top of the hard drive for a blue dot. If the drive
case has the blue dot on it, you can use the drive
in either the drive bay or the VersaBay II.
