CHANGING THE FUSES (Fig. 52)

Never use fuses different from the recom-
mended ones. The use of unsuitable fus-
es may cause damages to the electric
system or, in case of short circuit, even a fire.

If the fuse blows frequently, there proba-
bly is a short circuit or an overload in the
electric system. In this case it is advisable to con-
sult an aprilia Official Dealer.

If an electric component doesn't work or works irreg-
ularly, or if the vehicle fails to start, it is necessary to
check the fuses:
– turn the ignition switch to position "
any accidental short circuit;
– raise the fuel tank (see "RAISING THE FUEL
TANK" - page 25);
– extract the fuses one by one (1-Fig. 52) and check
if the filament is broken;
– before replacing the fuse, try to find out what
caused the trouble, if possible;
– then replace the fuse with a new one having the
same amperage;
– put back the saddle.
ARRANGEMENT OF THE FUSES
20A fuse - From the battery to:
key switch, regulator, digital clock.
15A fuse - From the key switch to:
all functions.
7,5A fuse - From the key switch to:
ignition.
