C-Nav Troubleshooting Guide INTRODUCTION This document is intended to provide troubleshooting steps for C-Nav receivers, antenna, and cable if the C-Nav receiver is experiencing performance issues caused by hardware fault or failure i.e., difficulty in tracking satellites. Figure 5: C-Nav5000 antenna power supply. New C-Nav receivers offer a potential difference of ~5 volts. Note that voltage will vary / degrade with the age of a device and due to environmental issues. So long as the receiver is outputting a voltage that can supply your antenna with the minimum required voltage as outlined in Table 3, then your C-Nav positioning system will function as required.

If your main receiver to antenna cable length and type do not match the specifications listed in Table 3, it is advisable to source the correct cable or verify there is a suitable amplifier inserted in line with the connection, otherwise issues will be encountered with your C-Nav positioning system. To start troubleshooting the Iridium antenna run, confirm data is flowing from the Iridium antenna to the C-NavX1 / X3 by checking the C-Nav control software’s ‘Receiver information’ page is reading the IMEI number of the Iridium antenna, this is sent from the antenna to software so will only display if there is functioning communication.
