Connecting Speakers to Your TV

Note: If you're connecting a home theater to the TV using the
Audio Out jacks, you don't need to connect the speakers. Go to
page 18 for more information on the Audio Out jacks.
There are two speakers packed with your TV you need to attach in
order to hear the sound from your TV. Locate the two speakers, eight
screws, and two sets of speaker wire. You'll need a Philips screwdriver
to attach the screws. To connect your speakers:
1. Stand at the back of the TV and hold the speaker so the speaker
grill faces forward and the speaker brackets face you, as the
graphic to the left shows.
2. The pin on the back side of the speaker bracket goes into the
middle hole between the screw holes on the TV. Then attach the
screws to the two holes at the top of the speaker and two holes at
the bottom of the speaker. Follow the same instructions to attach
the other speaker.
3. Take one set of speaker wire. Notice the conductors of the wire
are different colors. One conductor is gray; the other one is
copper. This is important to remember when connecting because
the ends of the conductor need to go into the same colored
speaker terminals on the speaker and the TV.
4. Locate the speaker terminals on the speakers and on the TV. The
bottom graphic to the left shows the locations.
5. The rubber piece on the speaker wire, called a ferrite core,
should be closest to the TV when connected. Starting with the
left speaker, press down on the red tab of the speaker terminal to
insert the exposed wire of the copper conductor, for example, into
the terminal hole. On the back of the TV, connect the other end
of the copper conductor to the fi rst red speaker terminal on the
left. Connect the other conductor to the black speaker terminals,
connecting on the back of the TV to the fi rst black speaker
terminal on the left. Follow the same instructions to connect the
speaker wire to the right speaker. Make sure the conductors match
red to red and black to black.

Mounting Your TV to the Wall

Caution: The wall mount must bear a minimum of fi ve times
the TV's net weight without causing damage.
You must fi rst purchase a universal wall mount to mount your TV to
the wall. Then follow these instructions:
1. You need to remove the base fi rst in order to attach the wall
mount.
A. Place the TV facedown on a surface that is soft, yet strong
enough to hold the TV.
B. Use a Philips screwdriver to remove the screws from the two
holes on each side of the TV's base as the arrows indicate in
the graphic to the left.
2. Make sure all cables are already connected before attaching the
wall mount to the TV.
3. Follow the directions included with the wall mount to mount the
TV to the wall.
