• The EX-USB expander will only operate on a network that includes a Tesira DSP Audio
device, A copy of the Tesira Software is required. See page 6 for details.
INSTALLATION CONSIDERATIONS
• A USB Type-A to Type-B cable is included with the device.
• Refer to maximum operational distance for cables as defined by 802.1BA AVB standard.
• The EX-USB has two mounting holes to secure the unit with hardware if desired.
• The EX-USB is a powered device that needs to be powered by power sourcing equipment
that supplies 802.3at PoE+ Class 2 with 7W of budget. Examples include: an AVB switch,
PoE+ injector, FORTÉ X, or TesiraCONNECT.
• If the network equipment does not support 1 Gbps, the EX-USB power LED will illuminate
steady yellow but the LED on the AVB RJ45 port will remain dark indicating no data activity.

This connection is for sending and receiving AVB audio signals as well as sending and receiving data between the expander device and the Tesira system.
