The following describe the measures and
caution points to note during timer
recording.

Relief Recording

If the remaining capacity of the HDD is insufficient,
relief recording is not possible.
To stop timer recording (cancel)

Press STOP/CLEAR.

Select and confirm on "CANCEL" on
the confirmation screen.
To switch from timer recording to normal
recording
A
While holding REC, press PLAY.

Select and confirm on "EXECUTE"
on the confirmation screen.

To extend the recording time, activate Instant
Timer Recording after switching to normal
recording. [ P33]
Relief Recording
A programme that is set for timer recording on the
DVD will be recorded to the HDD in the following
instances. The recording mode will revert to the mode
previously set.
In the case of JUST mode, the recording will be in XP
mode.

Disc is not loaded.

A non-recordable disc is loaded.
0
The disc remaining time of the DVD disc is
insufficient.
0
DVD disc playback in progress.
Points to take note on timer recording

Timer recording is not possible during editing.
0
If a copy prohibited programme is received at the start
DUBBING
of timer recording or during recording, recording will
be paused. Recording starts again when a recordable
programme is received. (For DVD only. For HDD, a
black image is displayed.)

With calendar timer programming, the starting
portion of the programme may not be recorded. In
addition, if the stop time of the previous timer
recording coincides with the start time of the next
programme, the last part of the previous programme
may not be recorded.
Dubbing and timer recording priority
If a dubbing that has been set coincides with a timer
recording, a warning will be displayed.

To prioritise dubbing
Select AEXECUTEB to execute dubbing. Timer
recording will not be performed. However, if the
dubbing ends before the timer recording end time is
reached, timer recording will be performed from the
time where dubbing stops.

To prioritise timer recording
Select ACANCELB, then press DUBBING. Dubbing
will not be performed.

If the warning screen remain displayed, neither will
be performed.
