Cartridge may be
running out of ink.
Cartridge nozzles may
need cleaning.
Cartridge needs to be
aligned.
Solutions
Replace the cartridge by following the directions
in the "Printer cartridge is out of black ink"
problem at the first of this section.
1. From the Windows taskbar, click the Start
button, point to Programs, and then click the
printer model you have installed on your
computer.
2. Select Printer Control.
3. Click the Cartridges tab.
4. Select Clean Print Nozzles. The cleaning
pattern prints.
5. Follow the test instructions on the screen to
obtain satisfactory print quality. You may
need to run the test as many as three times.
6. If the print quality is not satisfactory, reinstall
the print cartridge and rerun the test.
7. If the quality is still unsatisfactory, wipe the
print cartridge nozzles.

button, point to Programs, and then click the
printer model you have installed on your
computer.
2. Select Printer Control.
3. Select the Cartridges tab.
4. Click the Align Cartridges button. The
cartridge alignment page prints. Follow the
instructions on the screen to test and correct
the alignment of your print cartridge.
5. Click OK.
