Chapter 8 Troubleshooting

Scanning does not start.

Did you unlock the Transport Lock?
(Flatbed type)
YES
Is the document loaded correctly on the ADF Paper
Chute?
YES
Is the ADF closed completely?
YES
Is the interface cable connected correctly?
YES
Is the connector for the interface cable broken?
NO
Is the specified SCSI ID correctly set?
(when a SCSI interface cable is used)
YES
Does the scanning start after turning on the scanner
again?
NO
Turn OFF the scanner and unlock the Transport Lock.
For how to unlock the Transport Lock, refer to "Chapter 3 Connecting the Cables"

in the Getting Started.
Reload the document correctly on ADF Paper Chute.
NO
Remove the document in the ADF Paper Chute, open the ADF, and then close it
completely.

Connect the interface cable correctly.
For how to connect the cable, refer to "Chapter 3 Connecting the Cables" in the

Use a new interface cable and correctly connect it.

Turn off the scanner and the computer, specify a correct SCSI ID. Turn on the
scanner again. Then, restart the computer.

The scanner operation is normal.
