Cisco Catalyst 3560-E Series Spotlight
Addition of IP Communications
Cisco Catalyst 3560-E Series PoE models support
Cisco IP phones and Cisco Aironet wireless
LAN (WLAN) access points, as well as any IEEE
802.3af-compliant end device. The Catalyst
3560-E 24-port and 48-port models can support
simultaneous full-powered PoE ports at 15.4 watts
(W) for maximum powered device support.
Converged Services
The Catalyst 3560-E Series includes switches that
deliver Gigabit Ethernet speed with integrated
PoE, supporting both Cisco pre-standard and
IEEE 802.3af PoE devices. At speeds of 1000
Mbps, Gigabit Ethernet provides the bandwidth
to meet new and evolving network demands,
alleviate bottlenecks, and boost performance, while
increasing the return on existing infrastructure
investments. PoE removes the cost of extending
wall power to each IP phone, wireless access point,
or other PoE devices.
Software Features
The Cisco Catalyst 3560-E Series is orderable with these feature sets:
• The IP Base feature set includes advanced QoS, security, and basic routing functionality.
• The IP Services feature set provides more enterprise-class features, including advanced hardware-
based IP unicast and multicast routing, Virtual Route Forwarding (VRF), and policy-based routing (PBR).
Upgrades
• The IP Advanced Services software license can be purchased separately to enable IPv6 routing.
Simplified Management
Available for the Catalyst 3560-E Series, Cisco Network Assistant is a centralized management application
that simplifies the administration task of Cisco switches, routers, and wireless access points. Free of charge,
Cisco Network Assistant provides configuration wizards that greatly simplify the implementation of converged
networks and intelligent network services.

Integrated Security
With a wide range of security features, businesses
can protect important information, keep unauthorized
people off the network, prevent malicious viruses
and worms from infecting the network, guard privacy,
and maintain uninterrupted operation. Cisco Network
Admission Control (NAC) helps implement network-
wide security policies by validating the security
posture of hosts seeking to connect to the network.
Cisco Identity-based Network Services (IBNS)
prevents unauthorized access and helps ensure
that users get only their designated privileges.
And features like DHCP Snooping, Dynamic ARP
Inspection, and IP Source Guard help prevent
against man-in-the-middle attacks.
