Loading and Using Roll Paper

The printer accepts roll paper in widths of 4 inches and 8.3 inches; however, when printing in
stand-alone mode (without connecting the printer to a computer), the printer's built-in
layouts work only with 4-inch roll paper. This paper size is ideal for printing snapshots and
panoramics.
Tip: It's a good idea to check your ink levels before you print on roll paper. See
page 85 for instructions. Replacing cartridges while roll paper is loaded can smear
the paper.
Follow these instructions to load roll paper:
1. If you're loading a new paper roll, remove the protective paper from the end of the roll.
2. Insert both holders into the roll.
Make sure the edge of the paper is cut straight across. A
diagonal cut may cause paper feed problems. If necessary,
trim the paper.
3. To avoid paper feeding problems, uncurl the end of the paper.
Use a folded sheet of paper. Roll the paper backwards inside the sheet, as shown.
4. Remove the paper support and extend the output tray. Make sure the printer is turned on.
