    USER INFORMATION This manual contains basic advice, which should be observed during setting-up, operation and maintenance. It must be read by all personnel who may operate this product prior to use and be available, at all times, to each potential operator. If safety instructions are not complied with, it can lead to the risk of injury to yourself and others as well as damage to the environment or to the product.

    General Safety This manual must be provided to all persons concerned who will be involved with the setting up, operation, maintenance and use of the tractor and Agriweld ballast weight. It must be available at all times. If important safety instructions are not complied with, it can lead to the risk of injury to you and others as well as damage to property and the environment.
  • Page 5 • Any conversions or modifications to the machine may only be carried out after prior consultation and written confirmation from Agriweld. *Experienced personnel are classed as those persons with appropriate engineering knowledge and training from an approved provider, supplemented with experience of working with tractor ballast weight systems.
  • Page 6 Operators should also use their own judgement and *experience when mounting this Agriweld product to the handler. All forklift/loader operators will have undergone instruction and certification in the attachment and mounting of implements to the forklift/loader headstock, however, basic instructions for this process is included below for your convenience.

  • Page 8 FOLDING THE ARMS INTO TRANSPORT/STORAGE POSITION TRANSPORT/STORAGE POSITION: To drop arms in to transport position: Remove linch pin and securing pin (6) from rear hole to allow arm to fold down. Replace pin (6) and linch pins into front hole to secure arm in transport position.

    Operational Procedure 1. Once connected to the forklift/loader correctly the bag lift arms and bag ‘stop’ are adjusted according to the size of bag being handled, you are ready to use the ABC for the first time. The bag ‘stop’ has variable horizontal settings, adjustable via a pin system, for aligning the bags with the cutters for central piercing action.
  • Page 10 13. STORAGE: For storage of the ABC when not in use, the arms must be lowered to the minimum position achievable BEFORE the cutters retract to keep the cutters forwards. The cutters need to remain in the cutting position (forwards) to enable to ABC to stand upright alone. DANGER: Please ensure you position the ABC bag cutters facing towards a wall or building side to prevent trip hazard and potential impalement when not in use.

  • Page 12 Removing the cutting blades To remove the blades for sharpening or to replace them in the future, remove the M16 nuts and bolts and the blade assembly will come away. DANGER – RISK OF IMPALEMENT - Sharp blades DO NOT LEAVE THE ABC bag cutters in an area where they may cause injury to others. Always leave the ABC sited with the cutting blades positioned facing close to a wall or other solid structure to prevent injury.

    HYDRAULIC SYSTEMS Rules of conduct when handling the hydraulic system DANGER! The hydraulic system is under high pressure!     VALVE ADJUSTMENTS Sequence valve (C) - Knife retract pressure Anti-clockwise = Reduce pressure. Clockwise = Increase pressure. If the knives retract before the bag has been cut, increase pressure on valve A. Sequence valve (D) Knife advance timing When lifting the bags, if the knives advance before the arm reaches maximum height, adjust valve D clockwise for more pressure until correct timing is achieved.
  • Page 17 Throttle Valve (Knife ram X) This Throttle Valve controls the advancing and retraction speed of the Knives. To reduce speed of knife advance/retract = turn grubscrew in valve anticlockwise. To increase speed of knife advance/retract = turn grubscrew in valve clockwise.
  • Page 18 IMPORTANT MAINTENANCE & SAFETY Regular maintenance is a prerequisite for good operational reliability. The following safety advice is to be observed before starting any maintenance, cleaning or repair work. Trained personnel may only execute maintenance activities. Inform operating personnel before beginning special operations and maintenance work! Delegate a supervisor! If necessary, ensure that the maintenance area is adequately secured.

    WEARING PARTS If relevant, replace wearing parts before excessive wear causes poor performance and damage. Parts can be obtained through Agriweld Ltd directly or through your local dealer.
