General Text Entry Rules
Press a number key repeatedly to cycle through its
characters. See "Character Chart" on page 42.
Press a number
key as many
times as
necessary
to enter the
desired
character at
flashing cursor
location.
Press and hold
a number key
to cycle
between text
entry modes.
• If you do not press a key for two seconds, the
character in the block cursor is accepted, and the
cursor moves to the next position.
Change
letter in
block cursor
to uppercase
or lowercase.
Move flashing
cursor to the
left or right in
text message.

• The first character of every sentence is capitalized.

(Press
down to force the character to lowercase
while it is highlighted by the block cursor).
• Your phone may support multiple languages. The
current language setting determines whether a new
message begins on the left or right side of the display.
You can switch languages within a message. Press
M
to select the text mode and language you want to
use.
