Connecting Hubs Together

Connecting (cascading) hubs together allows you to
increase the number of ports available to the
network. All stations attached to the cascaded hubs
communicate with each other on the same network.
1. Use port 5 to connect the hubs together. Set this
port to the "Uplink" position using the switch on
the bottom of the hub.
2. Use a straight-through twisted-pair cable,
connect one end to one hub in the "Uplink"
position. Connect the other end to a hub in the
"Normal" position. The length of this cable can
be up to 100 meters.
Note:
Do not connect more than four hubs
together.
If you must expand the
network to include more ports, use
hubs with higher port densities.
