The SAFE period lasts 10 sec after the first two wrong attempts, 10 min after the third attempt, then the time is
doubied up to 640 min after the ninth attempt. After ten unsuccessful attempts the set is blocked, the EEPROM
has to be reprogrammed.
The set must not be switched Off during the SAFE period, otherwise the timer will start from the beginning.
Decoding
Decoding is only possible, when the ignition is switched ON.
Swiich the set On while keeping the AS key ® pressed until you hear the confirmation pean:
The display shows "CODE* and then "10 ----". Proceed as described above.
Coding
Proceed as described in 'Decoding'.
Every time the set is switched On the display briefly shows "CODE*.
CD Changer Security Code
Getting CD changer into operation after interruption of power supply
If the CD changer is connected to the radio the display shows "CD-SAFE* after selecting CD changer with the
source key. Switch the ignition On and keep the source key @ pressed while switching the set On once again
with the ON/OFF switch @ until you hear the confirmation beep.
The display shows "10 ---~-", where 10 is the number of remaining attempts. Enter the correct CODE with the aid
of preset keys 1 to 4 and confirm by keeping the source key pressed for3 sec. ——
Decoding
Decoding is only possible, when the ignition is switched ON.
Switch the set On while keeping the source key @ pressed until you hear the confirmation beep.
The display shows "CD-CODE" and then "10 ----*. Proceed as described above.
Coding
Proceed as described in 'Decoding'.
Automatic Switch-On
If this feature is enabled, the set may either be switched On/Off by the power switch or by the ignition key.
If it is disabled, the set may be switched On/Off only by the power key.
To enable/disable the 'Automatic Switch-On' keep preset keys 1 and 3 pressed while switching the set On with
the power switch until you hear the confirmation beep: The display shows *IGNI-ON* or "IGNI OFF* "resp.
The 'Automatic Switch-On' is always enabled after disconnecting the set from the power supply. —
Enabling/disabling has no influence on the '1 hour Switch Off' timer which is always enabled.
Speed Dependent Volume Control
Keep UML key @ pressed for 3 sec until you hear the confirmation beep. Use search keys @ or @ to adjust the
desired setting between "SD-VOL 0" and "SD-VOL +5".
Keep UML key pressed again for 3 sec to store the new setting. After 10 sec without activating any key the set
will automatically return to normal operation without change.
Impulse Setting
To choose the desired setting keep the UML @ and Preset 1,2 or 3 keys pressed while switching the set On unt
you hear the confirmation beep. The status will be displayed briefly.
Setting 1: 2500 pulses / km
Setting 2: 16000 pulses / km
Setting 3: 25000 pulses / km
