GETTING STARTED Installing the batteries You can use either 2 AA size batteries (Alkaline, Ni-MH) or an AC power adapter (optional accessory) to power the camera. Battery power is convenient for capturing images or video clips while an AC power adapter is useful when transferring images to your computer.

    Insert the batteries, noting correct polarity (+ or -). Close the battery cover firmly. NOTE If you will not be using the batteries for an extended period of time, remove them from the camera to prevent leakage or corrosion. Never use manganese batteries.

    Zoom photography allows you to capture telephoto and wide-angle shots. By using the digital zoom, images can be enlarged by pressing the (T) telephoto button so that the subject appears closer or appears further away by pressing the (W) wide-angle button.

    It is not possible to capture a zoomed image (photograph). In still image mode, the digital zoom’s range is from 1x to 2.5x to help you to see the details of the image. However, the actual captured image will be stored as 1x ratio only.
