General information

The switch actuator 4MDC is an electronic control unit for
actuating up to four sun shading drives with or without
an incremental encoder. The switch actuator and its
downstream power consumer are supplied with 24 V DC.
The connected products are controlled via the WAREMA
climatronic®; an on-site control device with operating
elements is also a possibility.
In addition to these instructions, note the information
and explanations in the instructions of the WAREMA
climatronic®.
To operate the switch actuator 4MDCI, a WAREMA
climatronic® 2.0 control panel or newer is needed.
Intended use
The switch actuator 4MDC is an electronic device to con-
trol sun shading products in connection with a WAREMA
climatronic®. The approval of the manufacturer must be
obtained for uses outside of the purpose described in
these instructions.

Safety instructions
W ARNING
The electrical installation (assembly)/dis-
mantling must be performed by a certified
electrician in accordance with the electri-
cal installation regulations published by
the Association of German Electrical Engi-
neers (VDE 0100) or the standards and reg-
ulations of the country in which the device
is being installed. The electrician must
observe the installation notes included
with the electrical devices.
W ARNING
If hazard-free operation cannot be
assumed, the device may not be commis-
sioned or must be decommissioned. This
assumption is justified:
 If the housing or the supply lines show signs of
damage,
 If the device is no longer working.
W ARNING
It is important to comply with the following
points in the interest of personal safety.
Children may not play with the operating elements of
the control unit or the remote control! Store the remote
controls out of the range of children.
Make sure that no persons or objects are in the range
of movement of the driven parts (blinds, window, etc.).
Disconnect the switch actuator from the operating
voltage if cleaning or other maintenance work must be
performed.
