How the fn key works on Mac
If you need to type F1 (rather than darken the
screen) simply hold down fn and then press F1.
If this is not convenient, you can reverse it, via the
System Settings:
newer Mac:
# menu > System Settings
> Keyboard
and check the box, as shown below.
older Mac:
# menu > System Preferences...
> Keyboard
and check the box, as shown below.

Charge it first
Charge the keyboard from a computer or USB-C
charger. A full charge from empty takes 5 hours,
and lasts approximately 3 years (in typical use).
