Hello we purchased a treadmill from a private party 9500 elite. I can't get it to lower out of the upright position

To lower the NordicTrack Elite 9500 PRO treadmill from the upright position:
1. Hold the upper end of the treadmill with your right hand. 2. Pull the latch knob to the left and hold it. 3. Pivot the frame downward and release the latch knob. You may need to push the frame forward slightly to release the latch. 4. ASSEMBLY Assembly requires two persons. Set the treadmill in a cleared area and remove all packing materials. Do not dispose of the packing materials until assembly is completed. 2. Identify the Right Upright (74), which is marked with a “Right” sticker. Hold the Right Upright near the Right Base Cover (77). See the inset drawing.
