SHOT CLOCK SET-UP INSTRUCTIONS
FOR DAKTRONICS ALL-SPORT 5000 CONSOLES
Before Turning On Scoreboard: Ensure
that the shot clock controller (the one with
two reset buttons) is attached to the back
of the console.
When Turning On Scoreboard: Make
sure that the console is in one of the
basketball modes indicated on the insert
(1101, 1102, 1103, 1104, 1105).
If you use the scoreboard in another mode
(such as volleyball), the shot clock will not
work.

Shot Clock Set-Up

1. Press the black MENU button, use the down arrow to go to Settings and press YES/ENTER.
2. Use the down arrow to scroll until the console display reads SHOT CLOCK – MODE – TENTH
SECOND? Make sure this is set to NO.
3. Use the down arrow to scroll until the console display reads SHOT CLOCK – TIME RESET 1. Set this to
35 seconds and then press YES/ENTER. This will set the Reset 1 button on the controller to reset the
shot clock to 35 seconds.
4. Use the down arrow to scroll until the console display reads SHOT CLOCK – TIME RESET 2. Set this to
20 seconds and then press YES/ENTER. This will set the Reset 2 button on the controller to reset the
shot clock to 20 seconds.
5. Use the down arrow to scroll until the console display reads SHOT CLOCK – MODE – SYNC W/MAIN?
Press YES/ENTER.
• This setting syncs the shot clock to start and stop with the game clock, allowing the shot clock
operator to focus only on having to reset after a change of possession.
6. Use the down arrow to scroll until the console display reads SHOT CLOCK – MODE – AUTO BLANK?
Press YES/ENTER.
• This setting will automatically allow the shot clock to shut off when reset with under 35 seconds
left in each quarter.

  • Page 2 SHOT CLOCK OPERATION DURING THE GAME At The Opening Tip: Make sure that the rocker switch on the shot clock controller is on STOP at the opening tip. Press the switch to CLOCK START once possession is gained after the jump. NOTE: The shot clock DOES NOT START WHEN THE BALL IS TIPPED. The shot clock starts when a team clearly gains possession of the ball.
