  3. Wash all the accessories with warm soapy water using a sponge or dishcloth.
  4. Rinse thoroughly to remove soapy residue.
  5. Wipe body clean with a damp cloth.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
  • Do not immerse the appliance, cord and plug in water at any time.

To Make Coffee:

  1. Place the appliance upright on a dry, sturdy and flat surface.
  2. Set coarsely ground coffee aside.
  3. Fill the urn with COLD water in accordance with the amount of coffee needed. See coffee measuring chart.
  4. Place stem into heating unit in bottom of the coffee maker, then put stainless steel filter basket on stem. Spread the recommended amount of ground coffee evenly into the basket (see reference chart). Do not use drip or finely ground coffee as flooding of the basket may occur.
  5. Use standard measuring cup (250ml) for measuring coffee. The amount recommended will produce mild coffee. Adjust the amount of coffee slightly depending on individual preference. To make tea, follow the same instructions: substitute tea or tea bags for coffee in basket and add water to desired level.
  6. Twist the "Lock-on-Lid" in place on coffee maker. Make sure the lid has been turned clockwise until it is completely locked into the handle slots.
  7. Plug in the coffee urn. The "Heating" indicator light will be illuminated and the coffee urn will start making coffee.
  8. When coffee is ready to serve, the "Keep Warm" indicator light will turn on. Before serving, use a protective hot pad or wear mitts to unlock lid and carefully remove filter basket and stem from coffee maker.

  • Use extreme caution: the basket, stem and ground coffee are very hot.
  • Never open the lid while the coffee urn is in boiling process.
  • Do not touch the coffee urn maker exterior while in use.

  • Do not plug and turn on the product when there is NO water inside.
  • Never open the lid of the coffee maker while it is in use.
  • Turn off the coffee maker and unplug from electrical outlet when there is less than 2 cups of coffee remaining.
  • The coffee maker must be cleaned after each use. Improper cleaning will affect the performance of the product or may cause the unit to stop percolating.

NOTE:

  • Ground coffee in basket has to be removed promptly after coffee is made to prevent the bitter oil of ground coffee from dripping into coffee.

HOW TO CLEAN

Always unplug and allow unit to cool completely before cleaning.

  1. Clean coffee basket, stem and lid in warm soapy water with a soft dishcloth, rinse and dry. Use a soft damp cloth to scour the stains or residues of lid by using non-abrasive cleaner.
  2. To clean inside of the coffee maker: fill coffee maker at least 1/3 full with hot water and add one drop of liquid dishwashing detergent. Wash with a soft dishcloth and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

  3. To clean the heating well unit (the hole that stem fits):
Clean the heating well unit thoroughly with a scouring pad to remove coffee residue.
    See figure below.
    HOW TO CLEAN
*After each use, clean the heating well unit with scouring pad.
  4. Wipe body dry with a soft dishcloth.

The step of cleaning the heating well unit is important. If it is not cleaned properly and thoroughly, the coffee maker may stop perco- lating due to the built up coffee residue.

  • Do not immerse the appliance in water or any liquid.
  • Do not clean coffee urn or accessories in dishwasher.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads.
