A barbecuegrill becomeshot duringuse. It is necessary to useprotectivegloveswhenoperatingcontrolknobs,LP. cylindershut-offknobor
lid handle. DO NOTtouch castings,glassand grids.
DO NOT disposeof unusedpropanegasby openingthe LP. cylindervalve and ventingvaporintothe atmosphere. Instead, t akethe cylinder
to yourpropanegassupplier.
Be sureto tighten up all hardware(screws,nuts, bolts,etc.)at least oncea year or eachgrillingseason.
CONDITION THE GRILL
' Vegetableoil can be usedto coat and preservethe internalgrids,burnerand metal partswhile in storage.

Beforeusingthe grill for the first time or afterstorage,operategrill with lid closedon highsettingfor 15 minutesto burnaway oil.
• Once the oil hasburntaway,checkthe burnerflame pernext step.
THE BURNER FLAME

Keepthe grill lid closedand the cookingsurfacesin place.
, Observethe burner'sflame from belowthe grill bottomor by lookingthroughthe matchlightinghole. (Fig. 26)

Flamesshouldappearsimilarto the goodflame shownin Fig.26a and as follows:

A good flameshouldbe bluewith someyellowtip comingfrom the burnerholes.

Someyellowtips on flamesup to 1"in lengthare acceptableas longas no carbonor soot depositsappear.

If flamesare excessivelyyellow and irregular,the oil residuemay not be completely burnedoff or the venturimay be cloggedor may
notbe properlypositionedoverthe orifices. Allowgrillto coolbeforere-positmning ventud overvalve and Orifices.
