Hello I was using my hand control and I pulled it back and the rod connected to the brake pulled out completely, and now I can't get it to move forward. Is there a looking device that I am not using to get it moved back forward ?

    • Use of the Veigel hand controls by those who can adequately use the foot pedals is not authorized. Most states and providence's require restrictions on driver licenses to operate hand controls.
  • Page 5 • The hand control is for use in vehicles equipped with automatic transmission. The hand control does not operate a clutch or shift the vehicles gear lever. • Do not modify the hand control in any way without specific written approval by Veigel.

    Describes additional information that needs special attention when learning a concept or performing a procedures. The Compact II Hand Control is made for simple and reliable operation. The control is mechanically connected to your vehicle’s gas and brake pedals (see Figure 1).

    Veigel/Mobility Products & Design Pedal Guards. GET FAMILIAR WITH YOUR HAND CONTROL Each installation of the Veigel Hand Control is unique. The location and position of the controls depends on the interior space and construction of the vehicle. Make sure your know where each control is, and be certain of your ability to quickly reach and operate the controls comfortably.

    BASIC USER INSTRUCTION WARNING: When operating your vehicle with the Veigel Hand Control, you must always keep your left hand on the steering wheel to control your vehicle at all times. ACCELERATING AND SLOWING DOWN To accelerate, pull handle of hand control back. Hold it in this position when the desired speed is reached.

    BRAKE Push the handle forward to activate the brake. During the first braking tests please push gently, as only a small effort is needed to brake the vehicle. Pull lever back to release the brake. IMPORTANT: When fully applying the brakes, your arm should not be fully extended. Also, you should not have to rotate your shoulder beyond a reasonable reach to fully apply the brakes.

    Serial Number Type The “BZDxxxxx” marked on the label is Veigel’s part number of the hand control. It differs depending on the specific installation kit.  The type of hand control (Classic or Compact) is identified in the installation kit manual.

    INSTALLATION SIGN-OFF SHEET To be filled in by authorized professional distributor or dealer. The installing dealer should maintain a copy of the completed installation Sign-off Sheet and provide the original to the customer along with the remainder of the Installation Manual, to be kept with the vehicle in which the hand control is installed.
