Changing the menu settings
To make the menu display disappear
Press MENU.
Menu items are displayed as the following icons:
Selecting the mode setting of each item
Menu items differ depending on the position of the POWER switch.
The LCD screen or viewfinder screen shows only the items you can operate at the
moment.

Notes on the SteadyShot function
•The SteadyShot function will not correct excessive camera-shake.
•Attachment of a conversion lens (not supplied) may influence the SteadyShot

Mode Meaning
z ON To automatically adjust the electronic
shutter speed.
OFF To fix the electronic shutter speed.
z OFF Records still/moving pictures in the
interlace format.
ON Records still/moving pictures in
progressive mode.
z OFF To deactivate the digital zoom. Up to 12
zoom is carried out.
24 To activate the digital zoom. More than 12
zoom is performed digitally. This value goes
up to 24 (p. 21).
48 To activate the digital zoom. More than 12
zoom is performed digitally. This value goes
up to 48 (p. 21).
z OFF To not record a 16:9 wide picture.
ON To record a 16:9 wide picture (p. 36).
z ON To compensate for camera-shake.
OFF To cancel the SteadyShot function. Natural
pictures are produced when shooting a
stationary object with a tripod.
z is the default setting.
