INTRODUCTION

Adult assembly required.
For use with children 2-5 years of age.


Suffocation and Strangulation Hazard. Death or Serious Injury Can Occur:

  • Infants who cannot get in and out of an adult bed without help can be trapped between a mattress and a wall and suffocate. NEVER place infants in adult beds with or without bedrail.
  • BEDRAIL USE: Bedrail can trap young children against mattress, headboard, or footboard.
  • Use only for children who have outgrown a crib. NEVER use in place of a crib.
  • Use only with children who can get in and out of adult bed without help.
  • ALWAYS keep bedrail pushed firmly against mattress and at least 9 inches from headboard and footboard.
  • NEVER use on toddler bed, bunk bed, water bed, or bed with inflatable mattress. Use only on adult bed with mattress and box spring or platform bed (support board 5/8" nominal thickness).
  • ENTRAPMENT HAZARD: Death or Serious Injury Can Occur if bedrail is used without fabric cover. Never use without fabric covering metal frame.
  • Discontinue use if damaged, broken, or if parts are missing.

NOTE: Periodically check the bedrail for tightness to ensure bedrail is snug against bed.

FEATURES & COMPONENTS

SET UP

Step 1:
Insert top, middle and bottom connector tubes into each end rail (Figure A).

Note: Top and bottom connector tubes have pins on each side, and the pins snap into end rails. Middle connector tube does not have pins.

Step 2:
Insert support leg into end of bedrail frame and snap into place (Figures B & C). Take second support leg and repeat on other side.

Step 3:
Fold down support legs as shown in Figure D, until spring lock is engaged (see Figure E).

Step 4:
Place fabric panel completely over bedrail frame and slide down (Figure F).

Note: Assure that bottom rail is covered by fabric panel.

Step 5:
Zipper bottom of fabric cover over bottom rail to fasten. Attach hook & loop flap to cover opening.

Step 6:
This bedrail fits twin, full and queen size mattresses. Connect mattress anchors to 3-way connector on both sides by snapping mattress anchor into place (Figure H).

Note: Be sure to orient the mattress anchor with notch facing down (Figure G).

Step 7:
Attach strap clip to 3-way connector (with notch facing down) (Figure I).

Step 8:
Remove mattress from bed.

Step 9:
Position assembled bedrail on boxspring. While holding the release lever on bottom corner of bedrail, pull the strap to proper tension until snug against boxspring (Figure J). Repeat on the other end of the bedrail.

Step 10:
Place mattress back on box spring. Pull the strap to proper tension until tight against mattress (Figure J).
NOTE: Press release lever down when strap is tight to lock strap in place (Figure K). Roll up excess strap and tuck under mattress (Figure L).

Step 11:
Ensure the bedrail is centered on the mattress end to end. Using enclosed template, measure AT LEAST 9 inches between the ends of the bedrail and the headboard and footboard (Diagram M).

TO CONNECT 2 SINGLE BEDRAILS TO CREATE A DOUBLE BEDRAIL

Step 1:
Remove 3-way connector from mattress anchor by pressing button with a pen or screwdriver (Figure N).

Step 2:
Rotate 3-way connector and connect 2 single bedrails under mattress (Figure O).

Step 3:
Follow steps 7 through 8 to finalize installation of double bedrail.


NOTE: To Ensure against entrapment hazards, make sure there are no gaps between the bedrail and the mattress. Slight deformation of the mattress is acceptable. See diagram.

TO FOLD DOWN BEDRAIL

Raise locking pins up on both sides of the bedrail's support leg and fold down bedrail (Figures P & Q).

TO LOOSEN BEDRAIL FOR REMOVAL

Push release lever up on support leg while pulling bedrail away from mattress. Repeat on other end (Figure R).


Do not push strap lock lever down.

TO CLEAN

To clean this Sure and Secure Single Bedrail, surface wash with damp sponge, mild soap and cold water. Rinse and lay flat to dry. Do not remove fabric cover from frame.
