Before you start solving, go ahead and give your Cube a good scramble! Twenty random moves will ensure a good mix. Begin by peeling the STEP 1 : Number 1 stickers off. the DAISY Follow the instructions to complete The Daisy. During this step you’ll Peel Number 1 stickers get to know your cube...
Page 8
POSITION 3 POSITION 4 POSITION 5 When determining the direction of a turn (clockwise or counterclockwise), look directly at the face that’s being turned before turning it. Always come back to the front face to complete your move. Getting the first petal in position is the easy part! Now we need to make sure we don’t accidentally move it when we begin to get the other petals in place Page 7...
Page 9
COMPLETE THE DAISY It’s time to complete the remaining petals! Your cube may not look exactly like these examples, but you can use them as a guide. Be confident in turning faces and exper- imenting - you can always start again. The more you practice, the better you’ll be! EXAMPLE 1 In this example, if you turn the Left Face counterclockwise to move the petal on the Front Face up, you will bump the first petal out of position.
Page 10
EXAMPLE 3 If the petal is on the Bottom Face, make space on the top and turn the Front Face twice. BOTTOM EXAMPLE 4 It’s time for the Final Petal! Be careful not to bump the other petals out of position! PRACTICE Well done! You’ve completed Step 1! Now scramble your cube and try...
Page 11
STEP 2: Starting with the Daisy on top, you’ll the WHITE CROSS go through Actions 1 - 3 to complete the White Cross on the Peel Number 2 stickers bottom of the cube. to reveal nine tiles: The center pieces are very important! They show us what color that face will be when the cube is solved.
Page 12
ACTION 3 One edge piece at a time, repeat Actions 1 and 2 for the remaining petals. Make sure you’re lining up the edge piece with its matching center piece each time! When complete the Daisy won’t be there anymore, but the White Cross on the Bottom Face will! REVEAL! When complete, flip the Cube over to...
Page 13
STEP 3: In this step you’ll learn how to use algorithms the WHITE CORNERS known as Triggers to move tiles on the cube. An algorithm is a series Peel Number 3 stickers to of turns that moves reveal twelve tiles: pieces around without undoing pieces you’ve already solved.
Page 14
LEFT TRIGGER For the Left Trigger, you’ll hold the cube in your right hand and turn the faces, as shown, with your left hand. GETTING STARTED Note: In these diagrams, the gray pieces are the ones you have already solved. The goal in Step 3 is to complete the bottom White Layer.
Page 15
ACTION 2 If the white tile is on the left side, complete the Left Trigger to move it into the correct position. When this Action is completed, go back to the start of Step 3 to find your next corner piece. ACTION 3 If the white tile is on the right, complete the Right Trigger to move it into the correct position.
Page 16
ACTION 4: Continued Complete the Right Trigger twice to move the white corner tile onto the Front Face, then go back Action 1. ACTION 5 If you have a corner in place, but it doesn’t match the colors of the center tiles, hold the Cube so the corner is on the right side and complete the Right Trigger.
Page 17
STEP 4: In this step you’re the MIDDLE LAYER going to solve the middle layer using a series of standard and Trigger moves. Peel Number 4 stickers to reveal eight tiles: You’ll start with the yellow center tile on the Top Face. BLUE GREEN ORANGE Remember - the Cube is made up of 3 layers: The top,...
Page 18
ACTION 1: Continued To move To move left, go to right, go to Determine if your edge piece is moving left or Action Action right by looking at the color of its Upper Face. If the matching center piece is on the Left Face, go Action 2.
Page 19
ACTION 3: Moving Right Turn the Upper Face away from the destination face, then complete the Right Trigger: Your Cube looks scrambled! Don’t worry - turn the Upper Face counterclockwise Notice the blue to move the corner back into corner is now above position between the correct its matching center colors, ready for a Left Trigger.
Page 20
ACTION 5 If you have no edge pieces on the Top Layer, but the Middle Layer is not complete (like the example shown), do the actions below. These are the same moves from Action 3. When you’ve finished this step, return to Action Move the incorrect edge piece onto the top layer...
Page 21
STEP 5: In this step you’ll learn a new the YELLOW CROSS algorithm to solve the Yellow Cross. Peel Number 5 stickers to reveal four tiles: ACTION 1 Hold your Cube so it matches one of the solve stages below. There might be additional yellow pieces on the yellow face - only focus on the pieces that make one of the patterns below.
Page 22
STEP 6: In this step you’ll learn a new algorithm to the YELLOW FACE move the yellow corners into place. Peel Number 6 stickers You may need to do it to reveal four tiles: up to three times to complete the yellow face.
Page 23
STEP 7: In this step you’ll learn a new algorithm the YELLOW CORNERS to position the corners correctly, before moving to Peel Number 7 stickers the final step. to reveal eight tiles: CORRECT CORNER POSITIONS When this step is complete, the corners will look like this. If your Cube already looks like these, you can skip this step! ACTION 1 If you can’t get two corners to match...
Page 24
ACTION 2 Yellow Face up, position your Cube with the correct matching corners on the Right Face, like the Start example below. Complete the algorithm: You may need to do the algorithm twice to position the corners correctly. ACTION 3 Turn the Upper Face to match all your corners.
Page 25
STEP 8 : You’ve nearly solved the YELLOW EDGES your Rubik’s Cube! In this final step, you’re going to learn Peel Number 8 stickers to one last algorithm reveal four tiles: to move the yellow edges into the correct positions. HOLDING YOUR RUBIK’S CUBE If one face is a solid color (not yellow), hold your Cube with that solid face to the back, yellow face up.
