Follow the instructions provided here and in the following chapters. Intended use The product is intended for the development, production and verification of electronic components and devices in industrial, administrative, and laboratory environments by personnel familiar with the potential risks of measuring electrical quantities.

Such persons have the education and experience needed to recognize risks and avoid haz- ards of working with electricity. Connect the product to a fixed installation used to supply energy-consuming equipment such as household applian- ces and similar loads. Keep in mind that electrically powered products have risks, such as electric shock, fire, personal injury or even death.

Once verified, insert the fuse into the groove of the fuse holder. 6. Return the fuse holder to its position in the panel. Disconnect the AC power cable from the socket outlet. 5.1.8 Connecting to LAN Establishing the LAN connection The R&S NGA100 provides Ethernet (LAN) connectivity. Provided the corresponding rights are assigned, you can use these interfaces for remote control and data transfer from a controller PC.

You can connect or disconnect all USB devices from the R&S NGA100 during operation. But do not remove an external USB memory stick while the instrument is performing firmware update, data logging and storing of screen captures, since it leads to unsuccessful updates and loss of data.

Rotary knob and arrow keys (3) Rotary knob and arrow keys are means of navigation and adjustment. When pressed or rotated, they perform tasks like navigation around the screen, adjustment of param- eter values or confirmation of entries.

The digital trigger I/O option (R&S NGA100-K103) must be installed for this function to be available in the instrument.

The "xxxx" refers to I/O status for DIO1, DIO2, DIO3, DIO4. If in use, the icon is highlighted in green. If enabled, the icon is highlighted in white.

When triggered, the indicator shows flashing and displays in red. The OVP and OPP indicators are located in the same position.

Depending on the power supply models, up to 80 W of output power is provided for models with two identical channels with a continuous voltage range of 0 V to 35 V or 0 V to 100 V.

[SOURce:]CURRent:RANGe 7.4 Remote sense function The "Remote Sense" is a mechanism used to monitor and compensate the voltage drops on the cables connected to the load. Once the remote sense is activated, it becomes part of the output feedback path for R&S NGA100.

  • Page 60 ® Instrument functions R&S NGA100 Electronic fuse 7.6 Electronic fuse To protect a connected, sensitive output in general, the R&S NGA100 power supply includes an electronic fuse which can be switched on individually for each channel. A fuse delay can be applied to each channel and individual electronic fuses can be log- ically linked to switch off the interlinked channels if a fuse triggers.
  • Page 61 ® Instrument functions R&S NGA100 Electronic fuse 7.6.2 Fuse delay, fuse linking The fuse delay and fuse linking functions provide the flexibility to handle a fuse tripped event when it occurs. When the current for a channel exceeds the value I and the fuse tripped event triggered, the affected channels are turned off according to the set- tings configured in the fuse delay and fuse linking.

With both functions activated, the R&S NGA100 protects itself and the load in case of voltage or power overloads.
