Chapter 5: Using the Receiver in Your Car

Your receiver is designed so that it can be safely used
in a car. The integrated antenna and Accessory
Mounting Kit are provided for convenient
installation.
Make sure your car accessories kit contains the
following items:
• Ball Assembly.
• Large, Medium and Small Legs.
• Receiver Holster.
• Two Straps.
• Two Extensions.
• DC Car Adapter.
• Cassette Adapter.
• Two Rubber Feet.
• Belt Clip.
Note: Some cars have cigarette lighters that do not
supply power when the ignition is off. You can tell if
your car lighter turns off with the ignition if the LED
light on the supplied cigarette lighter jack is not lit
when you turn your car off.
If your car's cigarette lighter jack does not supply
power when the car is turned off, it will be necessary
to take your receiver with you and plug it into an AC
power source when parking for periods of time
exceeding the battery's "standby mode" capacity.
To use the receiver in your car:
1. Install the car Accessories kit according to
instructions included with the kit itself.
2. Place the receiver in the holster of the
Accessories kit.
3. Connect the DC car adapter to the receiver and
then to the cigarette lighter jack in your vehicle.
4. Extend the antenna as far as possible, positioning
it behind the rear view mirror of the car.
