Testing the Sound
Perform a test to show how your speakers sound at different distances. Once you've
connected speakers to your DVD Player (such as front, surround, and/or subwoofer):
1. From the Sound menu, highlight Test.
2. Press OK to start the test.
3. Press OK to stop the test once it has begun. Press OK again to restart the test if it has
been stopped.
4. As the test progresses, each speaker will be highlighted on the graphic display as it is
tested. The name of each speaker is displayed as the highlight moves from speaker to
speaker.
5. Use the up and down arrow buttons to change the speaker gain (decibal level) for the
currently active speaker. The gain is simply the increase of a signal. Amplifiers measure
gain in decibels (dB). As different speakers are at various distances, performing this test
and adjusting the gain helps balance out the sound.
6. Once the test is complete, press the left arrow button to save the settings.
