Once the batteries have been placed, the indoor-unit will attempt to listen for the signal of the outdoor unit for three minutes. As a result, you should perform steps 4, 5 and 6 within 3 minutes.
How to make the outdoor unit re-send it's signal:
You can display the time in a 12-hour or a 24-hour format. In case you choose the 12-hour format, it will add "AM" on the display in the morning and "PM" in the afternoon. If you choose the 24-hour format the clock will run from 0 to 23:59 every day.
Once you have placed the batteries inside of the indoor-unit, the clock will display 00:00. Time, date and language can be set using the following instructions:
The following languages are available for display of the weekday.
NE - Dutch
ES - Spanish
DA - Danish
GE - German
EN - English
IT - Italian
FR - French
The display will no longer blink after this and the display will show the date and time correctly.
With the alarm function, you can select a time at which the indoor unit will give an audible alarm.
The alarm sound will change the tone as time passes after the alarm time has been reached:
Temperature format setting: The temperature can be displayed in ºC or ºF. Use the "DOWN" key to switch between the two.
It's possible to set an alert tone in case the outdoor temperature reaches a certain level. At the moment the outdoor temperature reaches below or above this level (as set) an alarm tone will be heard.
The "ALERT" key (image F).
As you require, you can either use normal (alkaline) or rechargable batteries in both the indoor and outdoor units.
However, please be aware that the total voltage of rechargable batteries are lower and may affect proper operation when they are nearly empty.
Rechargable batteries must be charged with an external charger.
Because regular Alkaline batteries perform poorly or not at all at temperatures around or below 0°C, we don't recommend using standard Alkaline batteries for the outdoor unit.
This is why we recommend inserting Lithium batteries into the outdoor unit, because these are developed for functioning within a temperature range of -20°C to 60°C. These batteries can be ordered from the customer service department of Commaxx: service@commaxxgroup.com. Lithium batteries with a capacity of 2900mAh have a life span of at least one year.
The current temperature, humidity and air pressure will not be displayed correctly until both the indoor and outdoor unit have been working for a few hours without having been moved.
The weather preduction and air pressure functions will not be correct until 24 hours after installation.
With various icons, a weather prediction will be displayed for the day. This prediction is calculated by changes in the air pressure. Using this method, it's 75% accurate. Using air condition or other methods to alter the indoor climate can impact this function..
The weather prediction uses the following icons:
Sunny
Lightly cloudy
Cloudy
Rain
Please view the installation part of this manual on how to set this function.
Press the "ALARM" key to activate or deactivate the alarm. When the alarm activates you can press any key to stop the alarm. After 24 hours, the alarm will activate again.
If the alarm goes off and you use the snooze function by pressing the "SNOOZE" key, the alarm will stop and the icon will appear on the display, blinking together with the
icon. After 5 minutes the alarm will go off again.
Press the "SNOOZE" key to pause the alarm for another 5 minutes or any other key to stop the alarm.
The lunar cycle icon shows how much you can see of the moon this night (in case of clear skies). This display is based on the date setting.
The indoor temperature is measured every 12 seconds. The temperature shift icon will indicate if the temperature has raised, lowered or is the same.
If the temperature shift is similar (within 1ºC) over the past hour, it will show .
If the temperature shift is raised more than 1ºC within an hour, it will show .
If the temperature shift is lowered more than 1ºC within an hour, it will show .
The measuring range is from 0ºC to +50ºC ±1ºC
The Humidity is measured every 12 seconds. The percentage of humidity is shown in the display. The comfort icon will further indicate if the climate is healthy.
When the humidity is lower than 40% appears
When the temperature is between 20°C~28°C and the humidity is between 40%~70%, appears
There won't be any icon if the humidity is between 40%~70%, but the temperature is not between 20°C~28°C.
If the humidity is above 70%, appears.
With the "MAX/MIN" key you can view the maximum and minimum value that has been measured of the following values
You may delete Maximum and Minimum values at any time.
The Maximum and Minimum values are now erased.
Please view the installation part of this manual on how to set up this function.
Activating/Deactivating the alarm:
If the alarm is active and the minimum or maximum value is passed, an alert signal will sound for 5 seconds.
The outdoor temperature value shown will blink.
This is repeated every minute until the outdoor temperature returns to a value between the minimum and maximum value set.
After the batteries are switched out in the indoor unit, all memories and settings will be erased.
After the batteries in the outdoor unit are replaced, it is required to register it to the indoor unit again.
Please use the instructions in the Installation part of this manual.
In case you lost your overview of the settings or the device shows some odd behaviour, it is a good option to reset the indoor and outdoor unit.
Within several seconds, the indoor and outdoor unit should once again have a radio link and the device should operate normally.
