Lubrication and Service

500 HOUR LUBRICATION AND MAINTENANCE CHECKS

FINAL DRIVE CASE BREATHERS - Remove the
breather elements from the motorized wheels. Clean
or replace the elements.
2.
HYDRAULIC SYSTEM OIL FILTERS - Replace the
filter elements. Check the oil level in the hydraulic oil
tank and add oil, as necessary. Use Lube Key B.
3.
HYDRAIR® SUSPENSION - Check for the proper
piston extension (front and rear). Refer to Section H4
in the service manual for more information on proper
suspension extension and maintenance procedures.
4.
THROTTLE AND BRAKE PEDAL - Lubricate the trea-
dle roller and hinge pins with lubricating oil. Lift the
boot from the mounting plate and apply a few drops of
oil between the mounting plate and plunger. Use
Lube Key B.
5.
HYDRAULIC TANK BREATHER - Replace the
breather.
6.
ACCUMULATOR PRE-CHARGE - Check the steer-
ing and brake system accumulator pre-charge pres-
sures. Refer to the shop manual for details.
7.
WHEEL MOTORS - Check the armature section for
wear or damage. Refer to Motorized Wheel Mainte-
nance Schedule in Section P of the shop manual.
8.
PARKING BRAKE LINING - Check the parking brake
lining by:
a. Apply the parking brake.
b. Use a feeler gauge to measure the gap between
the piston and the surface of the parking brake disc.
c. If the gap is 0.76 mm (0.03 in.) or less, the parking
brake lining must be replaced. To replace the parking
brake lining, follow the Parking Brake Lining Replace-
ment procedure in Section J of the shop manual.
9.
FRONT BRAKE DISC - Measure the thickness of the
disc. If 20 to 25% of the disc wear surface is worn
below 28.7 (1.13 in.), the disc must be replaced.
Refer to the shop manual, Parking Brake, Section J,
for additional information.
10. VHMS DATA DOWNLOAD - Using a laptop PC with
the VHMS Technical Analysis Tool box program, per-
form a data download from the VHMS controller.
Send the data to WebCARE using the FTP feature.
Refer to Section D in the applicable shop manual for
more detailed instructions.
Complete the 10, 50, 100, and 250 hour lubrication and
maintenance checks.
