gases including sulfur dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, nitrogen dioxide,
chlorine, ammonia, and ozone. Do not install the Device Expansion Unit
in an environment that contains dusts or chemicals that accelerate
corrosion such as sodium chloride, sulfur, and conductive materials.
Failure to follow this warning may cause the wires on the printed wiring
board to short circuits, leading to fire. If you have any questions,
contact the store where you purchased the product or a maintenance
service company.
Do not close the ventilation hole.
Do not close fan or the front ventilation hole at the back of the Device
Expansion Unit. Otherwise, its internal temperature will rise to cause
malfunctions or a fire.
Do not apply any weight on the Device Expansion Unit when it is
extended from the rack.
Do not apply any weight on the Device Expansion Unit when it is
extended from the rack. Doing so may cause the frames to be bent,
which makes it impossible to be mounted on the rack. It also may
cause the Device Expansion Unit to fall, resulting in personal injury.
Do not work in the state installed to the rack.
Do not work in the state installed to the rack. Failure to follow this
warning may cause an electric shock. Please work after removing from
the rack.
Notes on Installing and Accessing the Rack Cabinet
Do not carry or install the rack only by a single person.
More than one person is required to carry or install the rack. Failure
to follow this instruction may cause the rack fall to result in personal
injury and/or breakage of surrounding devices. In particular, a high
rack is unstable if it is not fixed by stabilizers. More than one person
must always carry or install the rack while they support it.
Do not install with the load weight distributed unevenly
To avoid unevenly distributing the load of the rack and device, install a
stabilizer or connect multiple racks to distribute the weight. Otherwise,
the rack may fall, resulting in personal injury.
Do not install components on the rack only by yourself.
Two or more people are required to install the rack components such
as the door or rails. When installing the door, make sure that both
upper and lower hinge pins are held in place. Failure to follow this
instruction not only may cause some parts to fall but may also be
broken and result in personal injury. .
Do not pull out a device from the rack if the rack is unstable.
Always pull out a device from the rack in the state that the rack is
made stable (by the installation of stabilizers or earthquake-resistant
construction).
Failure to follow this instruction may cause the rack to fall out and
result in personal injury.
When wiring for the rack, be sure not to exceed the rating of the
power supply.
To prevent burns, fires, and device damages, the power supplied to
the power supply in the rack shall not exceed the rating load of the
power branch circuit. Contact the local power company for the
requirements on the wiring and installation of electric facilities.
Do not extend more than one device out of the rack.
Extending multiple devices from the rack may cause the rack to fall,
resulting in personal injury. Extend only one device at one time.
Elevated Operating Ambient
If installed in a closed or multi-unit rack assembly, the operating
ambient temperature of the rack environment may be greater than
room ambient. Therefore, consideration should be given to installing
the equipment in an environment compatible with the maximum
ambient temperature (Tma) specified by the manufacturer.
Reduced Air Flow
Installation of the equipment in a rack should be such that the amount
of air flow required for safe operation of the equipment is not
compromised.
Mechanical Loading
Mounting of the equipment in the rack should be such that a
hazardous condition is not achieved due to uneven mechanical loading.
Circuit Overloading
Consideration should be given to the connection of the equipment to
the supply circuit and the effect that overloading of the circuits might
have on overcurrent protection and supply wiring. Appropriate
consideration of equipment nameplate ratings should be used when
addressing this concern.
Reliable Earthing
Reliable earthing of rack-mounted equipment should be maintained.
Particular attention should be given to supply connections other than
direct connections to the branch circuit (e.g., use of power strips).
