Message Services Provided by e606
Your e606 supports the following messaging services:
Text messaging allows you to send short messages. (160 characters max.)
To send a Text message, the user of the destination phone number must be a Text messaging or SMS
Multimedia messaging allows you to send messages as a slide show containing images, text and audio
files (AMR). When you receive a Multimedia message, you will be notified by a message from the MMS
centre. You can receive the contents of a Multimedia message (automatically or manually). Multimedia
messaging is available only in the 3G mode.
Video messaging is a function of the Multimedia messaging service that allows you to send messages with
multimedia files attached. Multimedia files include video clips (MPEG4-Video), audio files (MPEG4-AAC,
WMA), and image files (JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP, WBMP). A maximum of 60 attachments are allowed per
message, with the total data size not exceeding 100 KB, including the message text. When you receive a
video message you will be notified by a message from the MMS centre. You can either automatically or
manually receive the contents of a video message. Video messaging is available only in the 3G mode.
Message Memory Maintenance
When the memory allocated for the message function is full, e606 cannot receive new messages until you
move or delete the old messages. To prevent the message memory from being full, it is recommended to
regularly move or delete unwanted messages.
Maximum Number of Characters
The maximum number of characters are defined as the number of single-byte characters (alphanumeric
characters, etc.) allowed in a field/item. If a double or triple byte character such as a special symbol is used,
the number of characters allowed will vary accordingly. (Refer to Text entry on page 23 for details.)
