Risk of electrical shock.
If your local laws require it, installation and wiring must be performed by a licensed electrician.
Disconnect power at the fusebox or consumer unit before installing.
Verify that the supply voltage is correct. Connect fixture to a 100 VAC~240 VAC 50/60 Hz power source.
Always follow electrical code standards when installing wired connections.
Risk of fire
Do not install near combustible or flammable surfaces.
NOTICE

Everything you need to install your Spotlight Cam is included.
Screwdriver & Phillips Bit
Use to install the mounting hardware and tighten the security screw.
Mounting Screws
Use this hardware to mount the backbox to your wall and secure the cover to the backbox.
Wire Clips
Use to secure and protect wire connections.
Drill Bit and Wall Anchors
If installing on concrete, stucco or brick, use the drill bit in a power drill to pre-drill the holes, then insert the wall anchors.
Backbox Cover with Gasket
Secures your Spotlight Cam to the included backbox. Comes attached to your Spotlight Cam and its wiring harness.
Wiring Harness and Mounting Nut
Connects your Spotlight Cam to your home's power wires and secures it to the backbox cover.
Backbox
Acts as a mounting base for Spotlight Cam and protects its wiring connections.
Security Screw
Secures your Spotlight Cam to prevent unwanted removal.
When mounted at the recommended height (9 feet up, with the motion sensor parallel to the ground), your Spotlight Cam is optimized to detect human-sized objects at up to 30 feet.
When mounting to a vertical wall, you'll usually want the mounting port to point downwards.
When mounting to an overhang or eave, face the mounting port in the direction you want the camera to see.
Wall
Overhang or Eave
Out of the box, your Spotlight Cam is set up for mounting on a vertical surface. To prepare it for horizontal mounting:
Unscrew the nut on the rear of the backbox cover, then pull Spotlight Cam and its wiring harness out of the cover.
Next, swivel the cover 180 degrees and reinsert Spotlight Cam. Finally, retighten the nut on the rear of the cover.
If you don't know where your fusebox is or how to turn off power to the circuit you want to use, consult with a licensed electrician.
If your local laws require it, hire a licensed electrician to complete all installation and wiring.
The included backbox has two cable inlets with rubber grommets. Choose the inlet that suits your install location, then get out the scissors.
Cut off the end of the grommet cone at a point where it's a bit narrower than your cable. If you're routing the cable through the rear, insert it now.
If you haven't already, push your power cable into the box through the grommet you cut.
Drive two of the included Mounting Screws through the holes on either side of the backbox to secure it.
If installing on a hard surface like brick or stucco, pre-drill these holes with the included bit and push the included anchors into the holes.
Next, secure the earth wire from your home (bare copper or green/yellow jacketed) under the earthing screw.
While holding the backbox cover, turn Spotlight Cam to the left to disengage it, and set the camera aside for now.
Now you'll want to connect the brown and blue wires from the wiring harness to their matching brown and blue wires from your home's power system.
Pull up the orange tabs on the wire clip to open.
Line up the ends of each pair of wires side-by-side, and fully insert them into the holes in the clip.
Then, just push the orange tabs down to close and secure the connection.
The white wire on the harness is not used, so cap it with a wire clip as well.
Use the included Cover Screws to secure the cover to the backbox.
Insert your Spotlight Cam into the backbox cover.
Once it's fully seated, turn to the right to lock it in.
Then tighten it, to lock your Spotlight Cam into the backbox cover.
Once your Spotlight Cam is installed, it's time to turn power back on at the fusebox.
If the lights on your Spotlight Cam turn on, you're ready to go! If not, turn power back off and check your connections.
The Ring app walks you through setting your up and managing your Spotlight Cam.
Search for "Ring" in one of the app stores below, or visit: ring.com/app.
You'll need it during the setup process.
In the Ring app, select Set Up a Device.
When prompted, select Security Cams and follow the in-app instructions.
Tap the Live View button in the Ring app to see live video from the camera.
If the light on the bottom of your Spotlight Cam flashes or stays illuminated after setup, this means it's updating its internal software.
This update can take up to a few minutes. When the light stops flashing, your Spotlight Cam is ready to use.
To ensure accurate motion detection, position your Spotlight Cam so the border of the motion detector dome is parallel with the ground.
Tighten the side screw to secure the camera position.
If you'd like other light fixtures (such as floodlights) to be triggered by the motion detector in your Spotlight Cam, wire them in, following this diagram.
The white wire from Spotlight Cam is the switched power output. Be sure to join it with the live/brown wire that feeds your auxiliary lights.
Any lights you connect will also turn on when you activate Spotlight Cam's lights manually in the Ring app.
Total power draw of connected lights must not exceed 150 watts.
