Instrument Operation
When adding reagents and emptying the waste, be sure to clean residual

liquid on the outside of the containers and place the container onto the
appropriate position in the NovoCyte Fluidics Station II.
Biological samples may be biohazardous. Appropriate personal protective

equipment should be worn when handling the waste, which should be
disposed of in accordance with local safety regulations.

Empty Waste

If the waste container is more than 2/3 capacity, follow the instructions below to
empty the waste container.
The procedures described below may vary if NovoCyte Fluidics Cart is used.

Please refer to

Make sure the instrument is in Ready status or the power is turned off.

Disconnect the tubing from the waste container by gently pressing the metal
clip of the quick coupler on the cap.

Move the container from the NovoCyte Fluidics Station II to a sink. Unscrew
the container cap and pour the waste to a tank for disposing of biohazardous
materials.

Add 300 mL (i.e. 10% of total volume) bleach to the waste container.

Screw the container cap back onto the container.

Reconnect the quick coupler on the cap and place the container onto the
NovoCyte Fluidics Station II. Be careful to prevent any twisting or kinking of the
tubing.
Please make sure the instrument is in Ready status or powered off before
