Wiring procedure
The following shows the procedure for wiring Ethernet cables.
■Connection of Ethernet cables
1.
While paying attention to the connector orientation, insert the Ethernet cable connector into the CC-Link IE Field Network
connector of this product until a click is heard.
2.
Lightly pull on the Ethernet cable to check that it is properly connected.
3.
Make sure that the LINK LED of the connected connector is lit green.
• The time required after the Ethernet cable is connected until the LINK LED turns on will vary. This normally
takes several seconds. However, depending on the status of devices on the circuits, link-up processing may
repeat, requiring more time.
• If the LINK LED does not turn on, check that there are no problems with the Ethernet cable.
■Removal of Ethernet cables
Press and hold the clip on the Ethernet cable connector, and pull it out.
Precautions
• Ensure that Ethernet cables are used in a duct, or otherwise fixed using a clamp. If these are not put in a duct or otherwise
fixed with a clamp, this may result in the cable swinging or moving, or otherwise being pulled, resulting in damage to the
product or cables or malfunction due to poor contact.
• Take care in order to not touch the cable connectors or product connector wires with bare hands, or otherwise that dust or
dirt come in contact with these. If oils, dirt, or dust on the hand contacts this wiring, this may lead to increased
communication losses, preventing correct data link.
• Check that the Ethernet cables being used do not have any breakages or shorts, and that there are no problems with the
connector.
• Do not use Ethernet cables with a broken connector clip. Using an Ethernet cable with a broken connector clip may result in
the cable coming out, or malfunction.
• Ensure that inserting and removing the Ethernet cable is carried out by grasping the connector itself. Pulling the cable
connected to the product may result in malfunction or damage to the product or cable, or malfunction due to poor contact.
• For Ethernet connectors that are not connected, use the attached cover to prevent ingress of dust and dirt.
• The maximum length between stations for Ethernet cable is 100 m. However, this distance may shorten depending on the
cable usage environment. For details, consult with the cable manufacturer.
• There is a minimum bend radius for the Ethernet cable. Check the specifications of the Ethernet cable being used for the
bend radius.
