Precautions
■Considerations when connecting Ethernet devices
• When replacing products or changing IP addresses, also reset Ethernet devices. If Ethernet devices retain the Ethernet
addresses (MAC addresses) of devices with which they are communicating, then replacing modules will change the
Ethernet address (MAC address), and ongoing communications may not be possible.
• If errors occur in Ethernet devices, then carry out troubleshooting in accordance with the Ethernet device manual.
• If the shell of Telnet or CW Workbench 4 is connected to this product when VxWorks detects an error, an event or error
message may be displayed. For details on displayed events or error messages, refer to the VxWorks Manual. When
processing is not possible, consult Wind River Systems, Inc.
■Considerations during 1000BASE-T/100BASE-TX connections
In high-speed communications (1 Gbps/100 Mbps) using 1000BASE-T/100BASE-TX connections, high-frequency noise from
devices other than this product in the installation environment may generate communications errors.
This shows measures to take on the product side when constructing a network system, in order to counter the effect of high-
frequency noise.
• When wiring cables, do not bundle together or situate in close proximity main circuits and power wiring.
• Place cables in ducts.
• In environments subject to noise, use shielded, STP cables.
• In environments subject to noise, use programming in the user program in order to carry out retry processing.
• Change other devices that connect to this product to 10 Mbps, and decrease communications speed.
