Solving Problems with Media Misfeeds

Frequent misfeeds in any area indicate that area should be checked,
repaired, or cleaned. Repeated misfeeds may also happen if you're
using unsupported print media.
Symptom
Several
sheets go
through the
printer
together.
Media mis-
feed mes-
sage stays
on.
Duplex mis-
feeds.
Solving Problems with Media Misfeeds
Cause
The front edges of
the media are not
even.
The media is moist
from humidity.
Right side cover
needs to be opened
and closed again to
reset the printer.
Some media remains
misfed in the printer.
Paper is loaded in
Tray 1 when the
machine was turned
on or the front cover
was opened and
closed.
Unsupported media
(wrong size, thick-
ness, type, etc.) is
being used.
Media is still being
misfed.
Solution
Remove the media and even up the
front edges, then reload it.
Remove the moist media and replace it
with new, dry media.
Open and close the right side cover of
the printer again.
Recheck the media path and make
sure that you have removed all of the
misfed media.
Remove all paper from Tray 1, and
then open the right-side cover to check
that there is no misfed media.
Use KONICA MINOLTA-approved
media. Refer to "Media Specifications"
on page 4-2.
Only plain paper and thick stock, 60–
2
210 g/m
(16–55.9 lb) can be autodu-
plexed. Refer to "Media Specifications"
on page 4-2.
Make sure that you have not mixed
media types in Tray 1 or 2.
Do not duplex (double-sided) enve-
lopes, labels, letterhead or postcards,
glossy.
Recheck the media path inside the
duplex option and make sure that you
have removed all of the misfed media.
