1. SELECTING A LOCATION FOR INSTALLATION
The installation of the air conditioning unit must be positioned in a location that can
sufficiently support its weight and give protection against adverse environmental
conditions. Failure to do so may result in unit damage and possible human injury.
All cassette type and concealed duct air conditioner units must be installed at a minimum
height of 2.5m or more from the floor. To prevent contact between human and air
conditioners moving parts and live electrical components.
Installation Location Selection for Outdoor unit
Obtain permission from the customer to install the unit in a location that satisfies the
following requirements :
• A location that permits level installation of the unit.
• A location that provides enough space to service the unit safely
• A location where water draining from the unit will not pose a problem
Avoid installing in the following places.
• Place exposed to air with high salt content (seaside area), or place exposed to large quantities of sulfide
gas (hot spring). (Should the unit be used in these places, special protective measures are needed.)
• Place exposed to oil, vapor, oil smoke or corrosive gas.
• Place where organic solvent is used nearby.
• Place close to a machine generating high frequency.
• Place where the discharged air blows directly into the window of the neighboring house. (For outdoor unit)
• Place where noise of the outdoor unit is easily transmitted.
(When installing the air conditioner on the boundary with the neighbour, pay due attention to the level of noise.)
• Place with poor ventilation.
(Especially in Concealed duct type indoor unit, before air ducting work, check whether value of air volume,
static pressure and duct resistance are correct.)
