TROUBLESHOOTING

What appears to be a malfunction may not always be serious and can easily be corrected. The table below describes some typical problems
and their remedies. Check them before calling your JVC dealer.
Symptom
The CD can not be played back.
The sound is intermittent or harsh.
The remote control does not work properly.
The component does not operate.
Possible Cause
The CD is not loaded.
The CD is not placed in the slot with its
label on the left side.
A disc has been placed outside of the
loading area.
The CD is damaged.
The AC power cord is disconnected.
The audio cord is disconnected.
The CD is soiled.
The CD is scratched or warped.
A piece of paper or adhesive tape is stuck
to the CD surface.
The audio cord is placed close to the AC
power cord.
The batteries are run down.
The remote control is not properly used.
The built-in microcomputer is not properly
functioning due to static electricity or other
disturbance.
Remedy
Load the disc.
Reload the disc correctly.
Specify the slot number and open the disc
storage door. Then close the door.
Replace the disc with a new one.
Connect the cord securely.
Connect the cord securely.
Clean the surface using a piece of soft cloth.
Replace the disc with a new one.
Remove it cleanly.
Separate them.
Replace the batteries.
Its maximum range is 7 meters (23 feet) and
30 degrees away from the component.
Disconnect the AC power cord and connect
it again.
