Installing and Removing Power Components
Prerequisites
Power down the Cisco CRS 4-slot line card chassis (as described in the steps below).

This procedure assumes that the Cisco CRS 4-slot line card chassis is already mounted in a rack with

sufficient room to access the sides and the bottom of the chassis.
Steps
To remove the DC power shelf, follow these steps:
Attach the ESD-preventive wrist strap to your wrist and connect its leash to one of the ESD connection
Step 1
sockets on the front (PLIM) side of the chassis or a bare metal surface on the chassis.
Bring Down All Power to the Chassis
Power down the chassis:

Go to the rear of the chassis. On the PIM, set both power shelf enable switches to OFF (see
Figure
2-19). Now the system's boards and fans have no power.
Unplug the DC power supplies.
Disconnect input power from the customer source.
