General Flight Precautions

EN
• The Nano CP S should never be fl own less than 6 feet from the pilot or other observers.
• Never fl y the Nano CP S directly at eye level.

Spindle Nut Tension

Failure to maintain proper tension on the
spindle nut could cause erratic fl ight behavior
and ultimately lead to separation of the blade
grips from the head during fl ight.
Periodically check for play between the head
and blade grip by grasping the blade grips and
pulling lightly in opposite directions, as shown,
several times. There should be very little play
between the blade grip and the head.
If excessive play (approaching 1mm) is
evident, the spindle nut should be tightened.

How to tighten the spindle nut

NOTICE: The spindle nut must be removed
and removable threadlock added before
tightening. Failure to do so may result in
separation of the blade grips from the head
during fl ight.
1. Remove the blades from the grips.
2. Remove the rotor head linkages from the blade grip arms.
3. Use the spindle tool included with the Nano CP S to remove the brass nut from the
spindle bolt.
4. Use a toothpick to apply removable threadlock to the threads of the spindle nut.
5. Re-install the spindle nut onto the spindle bolt. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN.
Care must be taken to not allow threadlock to contact the grip bearings or any plastic parts.
6. Check for correct spindle nut tension.

How to check for correct spindle nut tension

1. Place the helicopter on a fl at surface.
2. With the rotor head linkages disconnected from the blade grips, rotate both blade grips
so the arms are horizontal.
3. Release both grips.
4. Both grip arms should fall freely against
the head. If either grip arm does not fall
freely, loosen the spindle nut slightly
and re-check. Care must be taken not to
loosen the spindle nut too far. Check the
blade grip/head gap frequently, following
the instructions above, until the correct
spindle nut tension is achieved.
5. When the correct spindle nut tension is
achieved, re-assemble the blades and
rotor head linkages to the blade grips.
