FIREWOOD MACHINES

Read the instruction manual carefully and familiarise yourself with the machine before starting to
use it.
Electric-operated machines may only be connected to an earthed socket with an appropriate fuse.
The socket must be installed by a qualified electrician.
For your own safety and the safety of others, ensure that the RCD is installed.
All electrical repairs and electrical connections must be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Avoid using and storing the machine where it is exposed to rain or moisture. Store the machine on a
dry surface, preferably under a roof, when not in use.
Make sure the work area is well lit.
Place the machine on a stable, even surface.
Do not use electrical machines in the vicinity of flammable gases or fluids.
Children must never be present in the work area, and must never handle machines, tools or extension
cords.
The equipment works best and most safely when it is used in the capacity it is intended for. Do not
attempt to alter the machine to increase its capacity.
Stand in a steady position and do not stretch over the machine when it is running.
Use of the machine for any purpose other than cutting delimbed firewood is strictly prohibited. The
firewood must not exceed the stated maximum dimensions.
Putting hands, feet and other body parts into the machine while it is in operation is strictly prohibited.
Exercise great caution while using the machine.
Check cords and extension cables at regular intervals to ensure that no damage has occurred.
Remove the power cable when the machine is not being used, even for a short while, and when the
machine is being serviced.
Check that nuts and bolts are tightened after maintenance and service work.
Make sure the power switch is off (in the OFF position) before switching on the power.
Never overload the machine.
Do not move the machine when it is running.
Never leave the machine unsupervised when it is running. Only the operator is permitted to be in
the vicinity of the machine while it is in use. Walking or standing under the firewood conveyor is
strictly prohibited.
Keep the workplace clean and free of obstacles in order to minimise the risk of accidents. Litter and
other material that may be lying in the way during operation can cause accidents. If split wood is
collected on a pile (without a collecting container), make sure the pile does not get so high that it
can collapse onto you.
Long-term exposure to noise can cause permanent hearing damage. Use ear defenders.
For machines connected to the tractor's power take-off, read the tractor manual. Ensure that the
machine cannot work loose. The entire length of the PTO shaft must be guarded - read the operating
instructions for the PTO shaft.
Keep the work area clear of other people. Moving parts increase the risk of accidents.
When splitting wood: The log must be split along its grain. NEVER place the log
