Connecting the fax accessory to a phone line

Follow these instructions to connect the fax accessory to a phone jack.
The phone line being used by the fax accessory should be a dedicated
line that is not being used by any other devices.
HP recommends using the phone cord that came with the fax accessory
to ensure that it functions correctly. If the mfp is not located close enough
to a dedicated analog fax phone line to use the phone cord provided, a
longer phone cord is required.
1 Locate the phone cord included with the fax accessory, and plug
one end of it into the fax accessory.
2 Route the phone cord through the strain relief clip on the back of the
fax accessory.
3 Plug the other end into the phone jack on the wall.
