To the owner The acquisition of any Tatu product assures to the original purchaser the following rights: • Warranty certificate; • Instructions manual; • Technical assistance by the dealer on equipment delivery. However, the owner must check the condition of the equipment on delivery, as well as knowing the warranty terms.
To the operator Be careful with the environment Dear user! Respect the ecology. Do not throw trash away. This gesture of goodwill helps to protect our environment. Products such as oil, fuel, filters, batteries and others are spilled to the soil and can penetrate to the underground layers, compromising nature.

To the operator Never use your bare hands to check hydraulic leaks, the high pressure can cause several injuries. Never attempt to change the adjustments, clean or lubricate the equipment when the same is switched on or in movement. Be careful while driving on slopes. Risk of overturn. Prevent that chemical products (i.e.: fertilizers, treated seeds) make any contact with your skin or clothes.
Page 8
To the operator • Only trained and qualified personnel is allowed to operate the equipment. • While working or during transportation, only the presence of the operator is allowed on the tractor. • Do not allow children to play near or over the equipment while it is operating, during transportation or storage.
Page 9
To the operator Truck or trailer transportation Marchesan does not advise the equipment traffic on highways, because this practice involves serious security risks in addition to being prohibited by the current existing traffic law. The transportation for long distances should be done on truck, trailer or others by following these safety guidelines: •...
To the operator Safety stickers The safety stickers warn about the equipment points that require more attention and they should be kept in good repair. If these stickers become damaged or illegible, replace them. Marchesan provides stickers, upon request and indication of the respective serial number.

Working preparation Hitching to the tractor For hitching, choose a place as flat as possible. 1º) Traction bar If it is possible, keep the traction bar in the shortest position during working. • Couple the rotary cutter to the traction bar using a hitch pin and cotter pin. If necessary, use the hydraulic jack (A), which has an adjustment to lift or descend the drawbar in order to facilitate the hitching.
Page 16
Working preparation 2º) Power take-off First of all, verify the length of the cardan shaft in the following way: • Separate the cardan shaft and couple the 'female' part to the PTO. • Steer the tractor wheel until it touches the rotary cutter drawbar. •...
Page 17
Working preparation • It is important to give finish working in the cut parts. For this purpose, use a filer. Soon after, remove the filing and lubricate the 'male' with a fine layer of grease. • Decrease the length of both protective covers, using the cut tubes as a measure and clean the cut residues.
Page 18
Working preparation Transporting position When it is time to transport the rotary cutter, activate the articulation cylinders and place the locks (A). Activate the hydraulic cylinders of the wheelset and place the transporting lock (B). NOTE Never activate the tractor PTO when the rotary cutter is in transporting position.
Working preparation Assembly of the oil level marker with vent • Triple divider: Place the valve with vent (A) to replace the plug (B) from the upper part of the divider. Check the oil level in the divider, keep the cutter leveled and remove the lateral plug (C).
Working preparation Transversal leveling Level the equipment in a flat place. • Totally activate the hydraulic cylinder from the wheelsets to lift the cutter. • Observe the equipment from behind and check the correct leveling of the laterals and central frame. •...
Working preparation Longitudinal leveling Adjust the cutter in a flat place, being it properly hitched to the tractor. • Activate the hydraulic cylinder (A) a couple times. Stop it in the cutting height that will be used during the job. Example: Having the blades 60 mm away from the soil. •...
Adjustments and operations Inversion of the lateral wheelsets The lateral wheelsets can be used in two positions: Position "A" - For citric and similar orchards. Position "B" - For operation in wide fields, stubble cultivation and others. Lateral articulation The cutter has a lateral articulation of 15 degrees (downwards). The recommended maximum angle for operation is 20 degrees (upwards).
Adjustments and operations Cutting height adjustment The cutting height adjustment is determined by the different rod stops (A) used in the hydraulic cylinder rod. These rod stops limit the cylinder rod course, keeping the cutting height uniform during the whole job. Two rod stops of different sizes are included with the cutter.
Adjustments and operations Direction of blades rotation and serial number This cutter have blades that turn in different directions (clockwise and counterclockwise), so the blades can lift and cut the vegetation that is inclinated or lying on the ground. Bottom view Counterclockwise Clockwise Counterclockwise...
Adjustments and operations Main cardan shaft The cardan shaft with constant velocity should not work in an angle wider than 70 degrees. The cardan is designed to work in conditions where the maximum swinging angle can reach 70 degrees. In sharp maneuvers, the PTO must be turned off.
Adjustments and operations Slip clutch The slip clutches are factory preset, requiring no adjustment in order to start the cutter operation. When facing overload the slip clutch will start to work. It is necessary to raise the equipment immediately to relief from the overloading. •...
Adjustments and operations OPERATIONS - Important points • Before starting the job it is advisable to do a complete check on the cutter. Grease the universal joints, check the oil level for all the gearboxes and tighten nuts and bolts. •...

Maintenance Lubrication The maintenance of multipliers and divider should be done in the following way: • When starting to work and everyday of the first working week, verify the oil level through the indicators of level and fill up if necessary. •...
Maintenance Reversion or replacement of the blades Inspect blades before each use to determine that they are properly installed and in good conditions. Replace any blade that is bent, excessively nicked, worn or has any other damage. Besides that, the blades must be reversed or replaced as soon as some cutting imperfection is being noticed.
Page 31
Maintenance When replacing the blades, observe that ATTENTION they are supplied in pairs, which should be kept together until assembled on the cutter spindle. Unbalanced blades may cause excessive vibration and can damage bearings, retainers and the transmission box. The discrepancy in weight of these blades is within the tolerance specified in the project.
Maintenance Slip clutch The slip clutch is assembled both in the multiplier and in the cardan shaft, being also assembled in the metering box shaft. It is designed to slip, absorb operation loads and to protect the drive shaft. The slip clutch is factory fitted with a specified torque, in order to protect the tractor and equipment.
Page 33
Maintenance • Check the average length of the compression springs (D) before disassembling them. • Disassemble and sand the metallic parts that are attached to the discs. • Being the clutch disassembled, the discs must swing freely between the metallic parts.
Maintenance Multipliers and triple divider • The multipliers and the triple divider must be inspect every time the rotary cutter is about to operate. If the oil level is low, fill up the cutter. • The oil level verification must be done in a flat place and adjusted according to the indications of the marker.
