PROBLEM
Tool leaks hydraulic fluid.
Tool control valve sticks or
works hard.
Tool operates continuously.
Tool operates backwards.
Power source operates but
lacks power or cutting wheel
does not rotate.

PROBABLE CAUSE
Tool components loose.
Tool components worn or damaged.
Check for dirt or gummy deposits.
Misalignment or binding of control
linkage.
Valve components worn or damaged.
Tool control valve stuck in partial
power-ON position.
Directional spool in wrong position.
Hydraulic pressure and return lines
connected to opposite tool ports.
Tool components assembled incorrectly.
Inappropriate hydraulic system.
Control spool damaged; leaking fluid
internally.
Drive components worn or damaged
(bearings, races, gears, shafts, keys,
etc.)

POSSIBLE REMEDY
Tighten component hardware.
Disassemble tool. Replace worn or
damaged components.
Clean components.
Correct alignment. Lubricate linkage
joints. Replace worn or damaged
components.
Disassemble valve and replace worn
or damaged components.
Free spool so it returns to neutral
position.
Shift directional spool to opposite
position.
Disconnect hoses. Reconnect hoses
to proper tool ports.
Disassemble tool. Reassemble
correctly.
Check type of power source hydraulic
system, Open-Center or Closed-Center.
Replace damaged components.
Replace damaged components.
