    Outdoor Antenna Power lines - An outside antenna system should not be located in the vicinity of overhead power lines or other electric light or power circuits, or where it can fall into such power lines or circuits. When installing an outside antenna system, extreme care should be taken to keep from touching such power lines or circuits as contact with them might be fatal.

    PREPARATIONS Connection Plug in the AC power cord to the AC outlet after all other connections are made. 1 Connect the speaker cords to the speakers. Connect the copper cords to the + terminals and the silver cords to the – terminals. 2 Connect the speakers to the main unit.

    PARTS AND CONTROLS Main unit 1 ECO/DIMMER Selects ECO mode and dimmer mode. TONE Adjusts the bass or treble level. Determines the mode. Stores the received station to preset. DISPLAY Changes the display in CD playback mode. 2 CD window 3 zOPEN/CLOSE Opens or closes the CD window.

    Remote control Buttons with the same or similar names on the main unit basically have the same function. 1 POWER 2 0–10, +10 CD: selects a track of the specified number. Radio: tunes in the station with the specified preset number.

    ADJUSTMENTS BEFORE OPERATION ECO/DIMMER DISC DIRECT PLAY 1-3 POWER 6STANDBY/ON Power Turning the unit on Press POWER 6 STANDBY/ON (POWER on the remote control). Alternatively, press TUNER/AUX (TUNER/BAND and AUX on the remote control), DISC DIRECT PLAY1-3 or CDE. Playback will start automatically if a disc is loaded. Turning the unit off Press POWER 6STANDBY/ON again.

    CD OPERATIONS DISPLAY DISC DIRECT PLAY 1-3 zOPEN/CLOSE This unit plays back finalized CD-R/RW discs as well as audio CDs. Playing CDs 1 Press zOPEN/CLOSE to open the CD window and load disc(s). Fit the disc center hole to the pivot of the tray with the label side facing you and press down the part around the hole until the disc is securely locked.

    Random/Repeat play In random play mode the unit plays all the tracks in random order. In repeat play mode it repeatedly plays all the discs or the track being played. You can select random and repeat all play at the same time. 1 Press RANDOM/REPEAT repeatedly on the remote control.

    Adjustments To switch to monaural FM reception Hold down SHIFT and press TUNER MODE on the remote control so that "MONO" is displayed. To cancel, repeat the above so that “STEREO” is displayed. Tip: When FM stereo reception is poor, switching to monaural reduces noise.

    TIMER OPERATIONS DISC DIRECT PLAY 1-3 POWER 6STANDBY/ON Setting the clock 1 Hold down SHIFT and press CLOCK on the remote control. When the unit is turned off, you can also press SET. 2 Within 6 seconds, press f or g to set the time.

    Timer playback Turns on the unit at a specified time for the specified duration. Make sure the clock is set correctly. 1 Press TIMER on the remote control. "5" lights up and "5 PLAY" is displayed. 2 Within 12 seconds, press SET. 3 Press f or g to set the timer-on time, and press SET.
