Connecting the VT2400/VT2500 to a Network

If you are setting up a wireless network only, the computers in the following diagrams will not use Ethernet cables
to connect them.
If you have an existing modem, follow the procedure in

Setting Up a New Network

Follow these instructions if you have a single PC connected directly to the modem, or no Internet connection until
now.

Be sure the modem and the PCs are turned off and the

If you only have a single PC connected, disconnect the Ethernet cable from the PC to the modem (on the
modem end only) and connect it to a LAN port on the VT2400/VT2500.

Connect up to three additional PCs using Ethernet cables to the VT2400/VT2500. Connect one end of each
Ethernet cable to a PC and the other end to a LAN port on the VT2400/VT2500.

Connect one end of an Ethernet cable (RJ-45) to the modem, and connect the other end to the WAN port on
the VT2400/VT2500.

Connect up to two existing land phone lines (after you disconnect them from the wall jacks) and connect them
to the LINE 1 and LINE 2 ports on the VT2400/VT2500.
