Troubleshooting

No sound
Is the power of the PXR4 and/or connected devices
turned on? ( p.14)
Are the amp or headphone connections correct?
Can't hear the playback
The [MASTER] fader or [PHONES] knob may have
been set to "0."
The track volume level may have been lowered.
After using the faders for effect editing, or after using
the faders to adjust pan or send, the position of the
faders may not match the actual volume levels.
After pressing the [EXIT] key to exit the current mode,
raise and lower the faders so that the actual volume
levels match the fader positions, and then adjust the
levels appropriately.
If when using punch-in/out you cannot hear the play-
back for other than the specified recording range of
the recording track, you may have turned the
"AutoIn" function "On." ( p.27)
Can't hear the input sound
Is the [INPUT SELECT] switch set correctly?
Have you pressed a [REC SELECT] switch to set the
desired input track as the recording track (a
displayed by the number)?

Is the [TRIM] knob raised to an appropriate level?
Make sure that sound is being input.
Hold down the [SHIFT] key and press the [DISPLAY]
key to set the "DISPLAY" indicator to "PRE," and
watch the meter to verify that sound is being indicated
for each of the mixer tracks.
Raise the [TRACK] and [MASTER] faders to appropri-
ate positions. If the level meters do not move, no
sound is being input to the tracks.
If you no longer hear the input sound when a record-
ing track (
did you set "AutoIn" to "Off"? ( p.27)
[TRACK] faders don't work
After using the faders to edit an effect, or after using
the faders to adjust pan or send levels, the position of
the faders may not match the actual volume levels.
After pressing the [EXIT] key to exit the current mode,
raise and lower the faders so that the actual volume
levels match the fader positions, and then adjust the
levels appropriately.
Can't record
The [TRACK] faders may have been lowered (for con-
ventional recording).
The [MASTER] fader may have been lowered (for
bounce recording: i.e., when something is selected for
"BOUNCE").
Is the [REC SELECT] of the recording track set to REC
