Causes and solutions
Cause: The following occurred:
• Incomplete closing of upper door
• Incomplete locking of paper guide
inside the rear stacker
Solution: Perform the following.
• Close the upper door.
• Lock the paper guide.
Note: See caution following in this table.
Cause: Malfunction in the fuser unit
Solution: If the error recurs, consult
your dealer for service.
Cause: Incorrect SIMM card (optional
emulation or font) installed
Solution: Press the
CONT.
Cause: FPS job timeout (This error
occurs when the FPS card is installed.)
Solution: Press the
CONT.
Cause: Paper mismatch occurred.
Solution: Set the specified tray to the
correct paper size specified.
Cause: Paper was not inserted into the
manual feed slot in the prescribed time.
(This error occurs when the FPS card is
installed.)
Solution: Press the

Cause: Memory overflow error
Solution: Press the
CONT.
Cause: Insufficient memory
Solution: Add RAM board.
